Job Title: Packing Administrator

Location: Carlsbad, CA

Salary Range: $39,000 - $49,000, plus bonus eligibility

Position Summary:

Responsible for administration of rejected component shipments. Responsible to validate and to process outbound raw material shipments. Pack the goods appropriately for domestic or international transit. Measure and report carton and pallet dimensions prior to releasing packages to shipping associates. Communicate shipping advise and documentation to vendors, carriers, and logistics personnel.

Qualifications/Required Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of cumulative material handling, receiving and/or shipping experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with computers and Inventory Control systems required.
  • Able to be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to work for extended periods of standing or sitting.
  • Workstation is positioned within a warehouse environment.
  • Candidates must pose excellent communication skills.
  • Logistics certification or training is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Upon receipt of a claim shipment for rejected components, submit a request for Return Authorization directly to the vendor. Communicate with the vendor to understand how rejected components should be handled and returned. Once received, update the RA number and shipping instructions onto the Claim Note within the AGS system. Release the requisition order for the shipment.

Perform the advanced manual packing sequence within the AGS system. Match the contents to each shipment number and accurately apply carton content labels. Generate a packing list. Coordinate export documents with the logistics team as required for international shipments.

Receive the physical goods of the shipment and validate the accuracy of its content. Pack the goods appropriately to avoid damages while in transit. Measure package dimensions as required for transit documentation. Release packages to shipping associates for processing.

Coordinate the transfer of physical goods and documents to the designated shipping areas. Coordinate outbound pallet loads with carriers, as instructed by consignee and/or logistics personnel. Complete any necessary shipping forms and manifests.

Upon release of each shipment, immediately confirm shipment status within the AGS system. Distribute the shipping documentation to the consignee and logistics personnel.

Within the AGS system, monitor inner company shipments through the point of receipt. Report aging receipts to the Inventory Manager and assist in the process to reconcile variances, lost or damaged shipments.

Maintain a file for shipping documents as per the records retention policy statement.

Support the order administration team to create and release material requisition orders as needed.

Assist with any material handling tasks as assigned.
